OpenCues was invented by three HCI (Human-Computer Interface) practitioners: Wilfred Kasekende, Jake Brandford, and Damon Millar. It's maintained as an open-source community project, not a company product.
The inventors
Wilfred Kasekende has spent eight years inventing and patenting HCIs across platforms; he co-founded two HCI companies, moderates r/ClaudeAI, runs the Claude resource ClaudeLog, and is an Anthropic and Cerebras ambassador. Jake Brandford is an award-winning designer and systems architect, co-founder of CommandStick. Damon Millar has invented for two Formula 1 teams and co-founded a video compression company acquired by Intel.
Why it exists
The project's mission is to explore and advance the frontier of human-to-AI interfaces: the founding observation, developed across the essay series, is that AI interaction regressed to strict turn-taking, and that non-blocking inline cues can give it back the fluency of human conversation.
